Shipton Gorge.

This isolated outcrop of rock on Shipton Hill forms a huge elongated earthwork which has been artificially steepened on the N and S sides. At the base of the hill on both the N and S sides is a ditch with outer rampart which for part of their length have almost disappeared. Photo taken in June 1995 from the NW - FR 161/18.
