I'm going to be away for three weeks so the /online/ Rural Challenge Document 2 is going to be a bit delayed, sorry. Coming soon: new maps engine info as and when I get it! Plus: The BVR now has an entry on Yahoo!

Best of luck with the rail line. My mother, Audrey Butt Kaucher is originally from West Bay. Uncles John and David still there. We have a similar rail line preservation project in our county in the US. Sincerely, Mark Kaucher Little Falls, NY, USA

Just a few alterations but (hopefully) useful. I probably won't be doing anything on this site until the end of Nov, so keep your eyes peeled (nov 27th is when we get the decision from the Rural Challenge).

I lived briefly in Weymouth and would have loved having a narrow guage railway in the neighbourhood. All the best.

Fascinating project! How is the line going to go through Abbotsbury? The outline route map shows it north of the road where there's a 45 degree hillside. As I understand it, the original Upwey-Abbotsbury line was supposed to carry on West but it was hard to find a stable line through the landslip zone south of the hills.
