The first source of alternative funding will be from the Konver Fund. This is EU (European Union) money which is granted to areas which are suffering from the closure of defence establishments (the peace dividend). Bridport is in such an area.

Another source would be the Millenium Lottery Fund and we will be making an application before the September dead line. This will, however, be more applicable to the Crewkerne extention which will join Bridport to the main line at Crewkerne.

There is a large number of other EU funding sources related to signalling design, environmental improvements, high tech transport systems and, of course, railways themselves. When we have the time (and energy!) we will be looking into these additional sources of funding.

Of course there is always the prospect of issuing shares in the company as it grows.
