Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 7:57AM Our main relay in Taunton suffered a power cut on Friday evening which was restored at 6am on Sunday.
We are looking into the cause of this outage and how to improve resilience at this site.
The relay failed again on Sunday night. I came to Taunton first thing Monday to find that one of the batteries in the UPS system had gone flat. this in turn caused a flaky voltage to the equipment which made our main router go off-line.
Th fix took longer than expected owing to Mr & Mrs Herring Gull and family protesting in the strongest way by showing their disgust of me invading their roof space, quite a scary morning.
A new UPS system is being designed and will be installed after a rigorous bench test.
